Green Ninja: The Crude, the Bad, and the Ugly (2013)

An episode of the "Green Ninja" series animated in Flash, part of the Green Ninja Project sponsored by the National Science Foundation, NASA, PG&E and San Jose State University Department of Meteorology and Climate Science. This was a fast paced project working alongside industry professionals. I created character and prop assets in Flash and set up character layouts for the animators, and took on a couple scenes to animate and composite for the final edit of the film.
Tule Lake (2012)

Set in the winter of 1943 during the Japanese-American internment of World War II, Tule Lake is an animated short film about perseverance, based on the true story of an internee and her actions one night. Award-winning traditionally animated short film. Tule Lake was my first experience with directing and managing a team of about 40 artists. Through this project, I gained experience with managing, fast decision making, and communicating through the entirety of the production pipeline.
A Knock On My Door (2012)

Life is full of hard knocks, but you should never stop answering. Produced at independent film studio House of Chai, A Knock On My Door is an endearing traditionally animated short film, based on the true story of a Korean American immigrant, and the trials, tribulations and victories of his life. This project involved a large team and quick turnaround time.

Bye-Bye, Bruce is a surreal short about dealing with identity, and being trapped by social stereotypes and expectations. Produced by a team of San Jose State animation students, and directed by Yung-Han Chang.

Produced by a team of San Jose State animation students and the first film directed by Yung-Han Chang and Kimberly Knoll, No Robots is an award-winning traditionally animated short film set in the future, where humans live alongside robots who have resorted to crime as a means of survival, while the film follows a human business owner whose prejudices are put to the test.

Enrique learns the hard way that actions speak louder than birds. Produced at independent film studio House of Chai, Enrique is a graphic, frenetically-paced traditionally animated disaster film. This film was my first experience in production pipeline environment working under a professional. On top of animation, I also contributed soundtrack selections and edited the final cut of the film.
